Balletbase dancers in 'River of Memory'.Remember/Rebel, 11-13 June at Fonteyn Studio Theatre

To look forward or back? To break from the discipline or sink into nostalgia? To remember? Or rebel?

Two new contemporary dance works choreographed by Rathimalar Govindarajoo and Bilqis Hijjas.

A contemporary dance work exploring the action and perception of water in underground caves. This was an early version of the work Flowstone later featured in Take Flight! This performance was part of the 2006 Arts & Earth festival.

Solos for a Jazz Bar

To a backdrop of tunes from the golden age of jazz, Balletbase takes a fresh look at three classic character roles for women: the dreamy and innocent Ingénue; the Jilted Lover – both grief-stricken and angry; and the Good Time Girl – a little gossipy, a little flirtatious, always good for a laugh.
This performance was part of the 2006 Arts & Earth festival.
